Managing Your Facebook Profile
1. Fill out your profile completely.
Fill out all the details you want. Start from Basic Information down to Contact Information. Fill only the details you want to share.
2. Create a Facebook Page for your business or products. Connect with your clients on Facebook.
Create and manage a Facebook Page for your business, organization or product from your personal account. 
You can also use Facebook as Page.
Just click “Account”, choose the Page you want to use, and then click “Switch”.
You may now view your Facebook like the screenshot above. Access your pages through http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/.
3. Read the Facebook rules regarding Facebook Pages.
4. Link your Facebook Page or profile to other social media like Twitter. You’ll be able to share status updates, links, photos, notes, and events with your followers’ on Twitter and or other social media.
5. Keep your personal details private. You can control who can see what you share or post in your Facebook profile. You can choose to hide/ show personal details to your friends or connections.
6. Control your profile privacy by creating friends lists such as “Work”, “Family”, “Colleagues”.
7. Upload some professional or business casual photos of yourself. This helps you branding your profile or page. It’s the first impression you get with your clients, friends or connections. It represents yourself, business and or products.
8. Limit business contacts’ access to your personal photos.
To get on this, click “Privacy Settings”, then “Customize Settings”, then “Edit Privacy Settings for existing photo albums and videos”.
9. Post your newsletter subscription information and archives somewhere in your profile.
Connecting and Sharing with Others
1. Personalize your Facebook URL by creating a unique username.
Just go to http://facebook.com/username to create one.
Create a username that Facebook suggests or choose your own. Some usernames may already be used so, better think of a unique one.
2. Add your Facebook URL to your email signature and any marketing collateral, so prospects can learn more about you.
Also, if you are promoting your site, you can add your Facebook URL to enable your clients be redirected to your profile or page.
3. Post updates about your business in your wall. Focus on business activities.
4. Post useful and relative articles such as links videos to your Facebook wall.
5. Connect other social media tools (Twitter, etc.,) to your Facebook.
6. Check your contacts location. Make time to meet with them when you’ll travel in their city.
7. Get to know your clients before meeting or contacting them.
8. Search your email for more clients and connect with them.
9. Use “Find Friends” to easily connect with the people you may know.
10. Look for mutual contacts on your friends lists’ contacts.
11. Find the experts and invite them as a guest blogger on your blog or speaker at your event.
12. Post discounts and package deals to market your product.
13. Share survey or research results.
14. Suggest Friends to clients and colleagues. Gain their trust by helping them.
15. Buy Facebook Ads.
Go to http://www.facebook.com/ads/create and create your ad to have more exposure to your product.
16. Read the Facebook Beacon.
Use Network, Group and Fan Pages
1. Create a Facebook Group or Fan Page for product, brand or business.
2. Add basic information.
3. Post upcoming events.
4. Update your Facebook Group or Fan page frequently.
5. Connect to network, industry and alumni groups related to your business.
6. Use search to find groups and fan pages related to your business by industry, location and career.
